“Expect jokes, good vibes and a little dance” – BBC Radio One DJ Dev announced as host of awards ceremony
We are excited to announce BBC Radio 1 DJ and presenter Dev is set to host our Liverpool Echo Retail Awards 2017.
The Radio 1’s weekend breakfast show presenter will be hosting the awards ceremony in less than two weeks time on Thursday, March 23 at the iconic Liverpool Anglican Cathedral.
Dev aka. Devin Griffin will also treat us to a DJ set for the afterparty to end the night with a bang.
“From hosting at the Grand National a few years back, to DJing at LIMF and many a club night, I know it’s always a great experience being involved in cultural events in Liverpool,” he explained, “Everyone in the city is always up for a good time so I’m really looking forward to returning for the Echo Retail Awards in March!”
“Expect jokes, good vibes and a little dance” he added.
For the ceremony, we’ll also be hosting a series of entertainment consisting of live music performances from local singer-songwriter Tayá, who is signed to Atlantic Records, and Britain’s Got Talent dance group, MD Productions, will also be performing on the night.
The evening will also include glamourous dinner where guests come dressed to impress, set around a unique ‘retail runway’ in the historical cathedral. Expect a few more surprises on the night too!
Our awards ceremony aims to discover, highlight and celebrate the success of the city’s best retailers, including both household brands and independent outlets that have stores in the city centre, sponsored by Liverpool One, the Liverpool BID Company, Marketing Liverpool and the British Style Collective, presented by the Clothes Show.
Liz Dicastiglione, founder of OCD Events Management and organiser of the Liverpool Echo Retail Awards, said: “It’s amazing to have secured a big name like Dev as our host for the awards ceremony.
“Having a Radio 1 DJ there on the night will add to the excitement of the event – and make it a truly special occasion.
“This is not your average awards ceremony – it will be unlike anything that has ever been seen in Liverpool before.”
