As one of the leading transport operators in Europe, its roots remain in Sunderland, North East of England, in a second-hand motorcycle shop opened in 1938 by the Cowie family. The core UK bus business outside London came into what is now Arriva ownership when the then Cowie Group acquired British Bus plc.

This summer British Style Collective in association with Alcatel are taking over Liverpool with a three-day fashion festival sweeping iconic landmarks across the city. The event celebrates the world of fashion, beauty, and more, taking place 7-9 July.

Haymarket, the international media company behind British Style Collective, will recognise one young person who has made a positive influence across the city’s shopping scene. The Rising Star category focuses on the interns and apprentices who have been offered training for qualifications and opportunities to progress, because of their hard work, creativity and determination.

Liverpool BID Company is an independent non-profit organisation that represents more than 1,500 businesses in Liverpool city centre via the City Central BID and Commercial District BID (Business Improvement District).

Formed in 2005 as one of the first in the UK, its main focus is to support and improve the business trading environment by investing monies, raised from a levy and sponsorship, into a programme of events, environmental and safety projects, as well as the marketing of the city centre as a world class visitor destination and business location.
